Dave Johnson joined Jenne in May of 2008 as its Chief Executive Officer after a long and distinguished career at Avaya, a leading global provider of next-generation business collaboration and communications solutions, providing unified communications, real-time video collaboration, contact center, networking and related services to companies of all sizes around the world.
Prior to joining Jenne, Johnson held many senior executive positions at Avaya, with his most recent role as Senior Vice President of Global Alliances and Channel Development. As a member of Avaya’s Executive Council, he was accountable for accelerating Avaya’s penetration of existing channels while building relationships with new channels. Johnson also was responsible for top global alliances, including Systems Integrator and Service Provider partnerships. Prior to this assignment, Johnson was Senior Vice President and President, Avaya International. He was accountable for developing and deploying Avaya’s expansion strategies outside North America. Before that, he was Avaya’s Senior Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa, where he also was responsible for leading the team charged with the integration of a major acquisition in Europe. Before that role, Johnson was Avaya’s Group Vice President of the Small and Medium Business Solutions Division, where he was responsible for all R&D, product management, marketing, sales, service and operations for the Small and Medium Business (SMB) customer segment.Prior to that assignment, Johnson was responsible for Avaya’s Worldwide Sales and Marketing, including sales operations and sales channel strategy, direct sales, indirect sales, and the company's growing alliances with systems integrators.
Before this position, Johnson was Senior Vice President, International Sales and Service for Lucent Technologies' Enterprise Networks business, where he was responsible for all sales and service operations outside the United States. In his previous assignment, Johnson was Lucent's Business Communications Systems (BCS) Regional President for the Asia/Pacific region, residing in Hong Kong for three years. He supported the company's direct and indirect operations, including sales, marketing, service and business development. Before his assignment in Hong Kong, Johnson was Strategic Marketing Director for BCS.
Johnson began his communications career in 1982 with New England Telephone, where he worked in the Field Services Organization supporting business customers. In 1987, he was appointed district manager for AT&T's Network Technical Center in Morristown, New Jersey, and in 1989, he became national account director for a large transportation account. Johnson was promoted to general manager in 1990 and given responsibility for supporting the sales, provisioning and operations of AT&T's national and major account customers in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
A native of Holden, Massachusetts, Johnson earned his bachelor's degree in Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1982.
